Awareness Program & Poster Making Competition on POCSO Act , 2012

Integrated School of Law, Ghaziabad organized an Awareness Programme and Poster Making Competition on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 on 1st October 2026 at 1:00 PM onwards at the Moot Court Hall.

The programme was organized on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and in compliance with the directions of the District Legal Services Authority Ghaziabad (DLSA). The objective of the programme was to create awareness among students regarding child protection, prevention of sexual offences against children, and the legal safeguards provided under the POCSO Act, 2012.

During the Awareness Programme, students were sensitized about the key provisions of the POCSO Act, reporting mechanisms, legal remedies, child rights, and the importance of creating a safe environment for children. Students actively participated in the awareness activity and demonstrated their understanding of the subject.

A total of 15 students participated in the programme. The positions secured in the Awareness Programme were:

1st Position: Hiba, B.A. LL.B. 5th Semester
2nd Position: Anjali Sharma, LL.B. 1st Semester
3rd Position: Chesta, B.A. LL.B. 5th Semester

As part of the programme, a Poster Making Competition was also organized. The participants presented creative and informative posters highlighting themes of child safety, prevention of sexual abuse, child rights and legal protection under the POCSO Act.

The winners of the Poster Making Competition were:

1st Position: Ambiya, B.A. LL.B. 5th Semester
2nd Position: Kashish Tyagi, B.A. LL.B. 1st Semester
3rd Position: Mukan Mahur, B.A. LL.B. 1st Semester

The programme provided students with an opportunity to develop their legal awareness, creativity and social responsibility towards the protection of children. The enthusiastic participation of the students made the programme informative and meaningful.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. K. K. Mittal, Academic Director, Integrated School of Law, and Dr. Pushp Raj, Principal, Integrated School of Law. The event was coordinated by the faculty members of the Integrated School of Law.

Overall, the programme successfully achieved its objective of spreading awareness about the POCSO Act, 2012, while commemorating the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and promoting the values of safety, dignity, justice and social responsibility.
